Role responsibilities:

  • Complete licence applications as per the Housing Act 2004
  • Provide consultancy to our clients (booked with you automatically through the calendar that you control)
  • Complete Local Area Compliance Checks (we create a great a report for the most likely outcome of going through licensing)
  • Content writing
  • Give a good client experience and be customer focused
  • Working remotely  

To be considered for this post you must:

  • Be qualified Environmental Health Officer with a certificate of registration issued by CIEH/EHRB
  • Have experience working in housing within a local authority
  • Have a detailed understanding of the Housing Act 2004, HMOs, property licensing and enforcement in England and Wales
  • Be trained on HHSRS - be able to demonstrate you can identify and assess hazards and recommend appropriate remedial action.
  • Be an excellent communicator (verbal and written) and have the ability to explain complex and technical issues accurately and clearly to clients
  • Have previous experience submitting licence applications to the local authorities
  • Have a keen eye for detail and accuracy
  • Be proficient in prioritising, managing your own time and working to deadlines
  • Have an excellent telephone manner
  • Be proficient in using computers and online systems
  • Have the ability to work independently and as part of a team
